About meI teach English Lit at the Johannes Gutenberg-University at Mainz, and since 2005 I'm also a published author. I write historical romances, most of them set in early 19th-century Britain.

About my libraryIt's ... uhm ... big. Really, really big. And I love it. :)

My research library consists of two parts: one contains the research I need for my university job and my PhD thesis "Uni Research" / "Diss Research"), the other contains all my creative writing-related research books ("Research"), with a heavy focus on the British Isles and the Regency period.

Fictionwise, I love reading romance, fantasy and cosy mysteries. Of course, I also own loads of the so-called "classics".

Sandy,
Thanks for your kind words here and on Goodreads. Please keep me in mind for ARCs on any new books you have in the works! I also review on queuemyreview.com

thanks
J
Hi Sandy, I just read you blog entry on the Mainz carneval. Are you a carneval enthusiast? I would have guess "no", but perhaps I was just judging by myself :-)
Merry Christmas, Sandy!
Hi Sandy - I really enjoyed The Lily Brand... I'll go bump up my copy of Castle of the Wolf on my TBR pile. Thanks for the invite!
Go to bed! :)
You're too fast for me! :) At any rate, I just added your LT Author button - let me know if you have any questions.

Hi. Your website is very nice and I just ordered Castle of the Wolf (to get an impression). You are one of the few authors I ever had contact with :-) (I once chatted with Brian Moriarty of Infocom adventure games and I once emailed Diane Duane and once I exchanged a few netnews postings with Terry Pratchett).
So English is not your native tongue, is it? It is impressive that you decided to write in that language then - although I can very well understand the decision - I think a lot of things can be better expressed in English than in German - so if I ever wrote I would try English, as well (but I guess I will not :-)
Kind regards Christian
