About meWell My name's Melissa. I started reading when I was twelve years old. Before then I disliked reading. It took up too much time, time I could be spending playing outside. However my fifth grade teacher showed me that there were some really great books out there. Since then my reading has esculated into a huge race to read whatever I can get my hands on. The result is that I've only been reading for about five years and unfortunatly that's not enough time to read everything I won't like. :) I know I'm crazy. I keep having to tell myself that I have my whole life ahead of me. The other result is that I didn't read much of children books. The one's that I'm farmiliar with are the ones that my mother read to me. My only regret is that I didn't read at an eariler age. However it makes me think sometimes if I'd have the same passion to read so much if I had.
I'm greatly looking forward to being a part of LibraryThing. I plan on staying here for years and years to come.
About my librarySo I don't have as much books around me as I would wish, but I'm fixing that. I try and buy a book whenever I have spare money. I have many friends who love shopping for clothes. For me its the same execpt its with books. I could spend an entire day in Barnes and Noble just looking at all the books and drinking coffee. However my room is small so its getting harder to get more bookcases into my room. Books have started to appear everywhere in my room. Don't get me wrong, my room is never messy, but there's books on almost every surface. I'll be moving soon though so soon I'll have more room to expand my library. The only thing I need to watch out for is money.

I have just read your message on my friend bookstothesky page and thought I would send you a welcome to Librarything myself.
Having been a member now for round about 2 years I feel quite established.I must say it grows on you and the only trouble is that it encourages you to buy and buy !
Like the name that you have invented by the way and also your locations.
Best wishes from deepest England.

I thought your bookpile should have won; very imaginative and well done!
Enjoy your new room and space for books. For booklovers, the quest for additional wall and/or shelf space never ends:)
Cheers,
bookstothesky
P.S. Via the eenie meenie minie moe (sp?) technique, I'm going to say you're the girl in the black dress; close?
