About meI'm a librarian at the online library of a distance learning college that's part of the State University of New York.

I'm an insatiable reader, researcher, and learner. I also write (and talk) nonstop. I procrastinate by studying productivity blogs.

In my spare time, I practice Aikido, cook, play with string, camp, entertain my cats, read science fiction and non-fiction (usually the social sciences ranging into the soft sciences but I also have a weakness for theoretical physics.) I also play Rock Band for Wii whenever I get a chance.

I've got a leftist's heart and a libertarian's brain; a mystic's heart and a skeptic's brain. Incidentally, my heart has a floppy valve and my brain... well if you average out the genius parts and the idiot parts, you end up with me - trying to turn my bugs into features.

About my libraryIn this stage of life I move a lot, so I've packed off many boxes of books to the used book store. The surviving collection takes up 17 banker's boxes - two fiction, one cookbooks, one library science, five history. The rest is miscellany.
