I know Shipleys! Yes, shame about 84 Charing X Road. I adore the book, it is one of my comfort reads. And I thought the film honoured the book very well (with Ann Bancroft and Antony Hopkins).

Happy reading and art viewing. You are lucky to be near Charleston and Monks House which I imagine you have visited. Do you attend the Charleston festival? I'm planning a day to do both with a friend later this year. I've been to Charleston before which I enjoyed a lot.

Kind regards
Caroline
I see you added the Hammershoi catalogue - did you go the the exhibition. The other of the three owners is a friend of mine, so was interested to see who else had it.

Regards
Caroline
I would love to know what there was about my library that interested you. I see you have Seferis and Ingeborg Bachmann, Leonard and Virginia Woolf, and Rilke, who are all favorites of mine.

You have joined so recently, that I am assuming you haven't emtered all of your books yet. I seem to have a greater concentration on novels and stories.

You might be interested in looking at my wish list in "almigwinwishlist'.

Pity about the Repton, but you still have one of the most interesting libraries. Have you tried the LT Unsuggester yet? Hours of innocent pleasure to be had.
What an elegant profile picture, though. From Spain?

I don't know if Rachel is. I've never encountered her. There is a tool, part of LibraryThing local, the same thing that allows one to list favourite bookshops and libraries, that shows people in the same area, but she's not there, unless she is hiding behind a pseudonym. Not everybody tells LT where they live, however.

I see the one title we share is one of the master's, but you have others. How interesting that you should be the only person on LT with the Repton. Not surprised you're the only one with the Schinkel titles, but I was a bit puzzled by the uniqueness of Mike Jones's book on the Pavivion gardens. I thought there might be more copies around on LT.
Making friends is easy (if only it were so in real life). if you go to a member's profile, for example by following a link in one of the lists of interesting libraries LT suggests, then you see their profile and there's a box on the right-hand side of the screen containing add to interesting libraries , add to friends, etc.
There's also a tool, à la Facebook, to load contacts lists from other applications and web-based e-mail services, to check to see if any of them are already members.
