About my libraryMy collection is skewed towards science fiction and fantasy. It's not all I read, but obviously it's what I tend to buy.

I love the way my collection is growing to reflect the evolution of Science Fiction & I'm a bit of a fan of stuff from the Golden Age. Many of my Golden Age works are in Anthologies, so individual titles are listed in the comments section.

I'm currently adding tags to all my books to note the date of their original publication. I find it interesting to look at the distribution of my library using this method. It's a long and boring task however!

Some of these books are (or were) my husband's, so it's a bit of a joint collection. Some of the books are my son's.

It'll be a while before I have my entire library on LibraryThing. The boxes under my bed will stay uncatalogued for now, as I dare not disturb the dust....

Find the Miracle
(by Alan Cohen)

"On a journey through a jungle, a king accidentally cut off his toe
while chopping a coconut. "That's wonderful," exclaimed his advisor.
"There is a blessing here." The king, angered at the advisor's flippancy,
threw him in a pit and left him there.

The next day, the king was apprehended by a band of headhunters who
decided he would make a good sacrifice. When the tribal priest noticed that
his toe was missing, the headhunters released him as an imperfect specimen.
Suddenly the king realized that the advisor was correct, and he returned to
the pit and apologize profusely.

"No apology necessary," said the advisor. "It was also a blessing
that you threw me in this hole."

"How is that?" asked the king, incredulous.

"Because if I was with you, the headhunters would have taken ME for
the sacrifice!"

Imagine that everything that happens to you is assigned by divine
order. If you look for miracles, you will find them."

Help me see the good in everything.

I am in the presence of love,
taken care of at all times in all ways."
Yay! (Oh, and take a look at your member recommendations page, say, tomorrow?)
Greetings! I stumbled across your collection by snooping at owners of 'Neuroanatomy: An Illustrated Colour Text' and found that you are a Speech Language-Pathologist. I'm about to begin my training for this profession - albeit across the pond. Can I ask if there is anything that you would recommend as essential reading just before starting my course? I've tagged my Speech-Pathology books 'SaLT,' for Speech and Language Therapy, as it is known here in the UK. Anyway, I enjoyed perusing your book lists!
I am currently reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, which I think you would like. Oh, and my reading list is on the 50 Book Challenge: http://www.librarything.com/talktopic.ph...
Since you are stalking me and all :) Seriously, I am very flattered that anyone reads my reviews, let alone someone who actually has a clue like yourself!
would you be interested in selling your mary pat fergus cookbook/s?
