About my libraryMy library has a few focal points: Abraham Lincoln, the American Civil War and other interesting points in American History. Also, I am trying to strengthen my remaining library with titles and authors that I love to read, or have been highly recommended. Since I love cooking, I have included my cookbooks as well. My collection seems to always be going through major development. I have been very lucky to have lived and worked close to used bookstores and have purchased many titles for a fraction of what they would normally cost (thank you McKay's and the Book Eddie!). Most of them look brand new and all are in great shape. As long as I continue to utilize these fantastic resources, my collection will grow at a faster rate than I can read. I have no problem with that...
My rating system:
5 stars - Quite simply the perfect book. Cannot put it down. An "Essential".
4.5 stars - Near perfect. Must nit-pick to find a problem. Cannot put it down. Another "Essential".
4 stars - A great book. Flaws can be found, but they are minor. Hard to put down. Highly recommended and a must have.
3.5 stars - A very good book. Read it when I can. A recommended title. Nice addition to any collections.
3 stars - A good book & about average. Read it when I can. Might recommend it might not. A potentially nice addition to a collection.
2.5 stars - Average to below average. Hard to pick up and finish. A 'took a chance and didn't win' title. Not recommended unless it’s the only thing available.
2 stars - A nice way to waste time. Not recommended
1.5 stars - Not much more than words on paper. Not enjoyable in the least.
1 star - A waste of resources and a pox on the literary world.
