About meI'm a (chemical) engineer currently living in Shanghai, previously in Frankfurt, but originally from Ireland. I'm interested in history, particularly medieval history, and have started trying to learn more about Chinese history.

About my libraryI appear to have begun recording reading dates and writing reviews of books, as I read or re-read them. (All dates mentioned are for the latest read, which is not automatically the first time.)

My catalog here is still in a bit of a mess, but I'm trying to slowly fix it, one book at a time.

Most of my paper books are a couple of thousand miles away, so I can only really access the ebooks.

Books in the "To read" collection are in some state of not read - I may be part way through, half-abandoned them several years ago or not started at all!

Thank you for answering concerning the

Favorite Authors, and for the advice about

the "Recommendations" feature. (The

"Should Borrow. . .").

I don't find any "Include in Recommendations"

on the Reommendations page, or on the page

where the listings of my own collections start.

I do get a statement that my library doesn't

have the necessary minimum of books (10-15) in it!

But I do have over 1.000 that are free of whatever

the "Wish List" status may be doing to impede them.

I've been advised something like this before --

but in muchless clear language than yhou're giving me.

I was wondering if the advice meant that I had

to take ALL the items, one by one, and give them

the recommendation status?

But if it has to do with the "Onclude in Recommendations"

checkbox, I just plain don;t know where that is!

Thanks, in any case.

Thank you for the advice on

how to edit the "Favorite Authors"

section.
Thanks for the comment. I did not think I was advertising, just telling people about a free book. But I will stop after reading that page link you sent.

Thanks again.

Best regards,
Mike
