About meHi. I've been a book publishing acquisitions editor and in creative writing groups since 1995.

I'm very eclectic in my reading,art and musical tastes. I enjoy reading about history and love biographies, chick lit and popular science books. I haven't played music in years but can....meanwhile I keep listening to jazz, blues, folk international and classical music.

I try to keep sanity and reasonable health by running, cooking & pilates balanced with sharing glasses of wine with friends and watching lots of movies, House and sports.

I love Neil Gaiman. I just finished The Confessions of Max Tivoli (for my book club at work), which was OK but a little repetitive. I'm thinking of tackling Swann's Way next, as it's been on my list of "finally read this this year" and I haven't gotten around to it yet....

Nice to meet you Shelley! I love Atwood as well, and I recently read my first McCullers and loved it (The Heart is a Lonely Hunter). Can I ask what you're reading lately?

I recently started Bright Start Tutoring, Inc., an in-home tutoring service that serves the Birmingham, AL area. I don't get to tutor as much as I'd like because of doing the business end of things, but it's a lot of fun.

Good luck on all the life changes. It sounds like a stressful and challenging time, but it also sounds like a time that you can come out of the gates swinging and re-make your life into something great for you.

Thanks Shelley. I just started Atwood's Good Bones And Simple Murders so I'm excited about that. And you've reminded me that I need to update my profile since my transition is over. I think/I hope.

I makes me grin that I have 1,001 books right now, and you have 666. What nice, significant numbers:).
