About me I've worked most of my life as a nurse, but now spend a lot of my time immersed in military nursing research of the Great War period, and I do a lot of transcriptions of original sources held at The National Archives, which I then make available on my website. I also field a lot of queries from people trying to trace nurses/family members of the period, and try to help wherever possible.

About my library I've collected quite a variety of books about nursing history and military nursing - listing them has surprised me - I didn't think I had such a weird and wonderful selection. I have a few that have been quite expensive to buy, but most I've picked up in second-hand shops and library sales over the last few years. I also have a large number of local history books, relating both to the area from which I originated, and where I live now. Everything I've listed on the site is owned by me, and part of my permanent collection. No fiction here - I buy a lot, but don't keep it due to space - it all goes to friends, family, charity shops or BookCrossing.
