wow! looks like you've added a few books!
Just finished my OT paper, thanks for letting me use a few of your books! It was a pretty interesting passage - Job 38:8-11. It describes God as the midwife of the monstrous Sea. Since the "sea" was known as the place of chaos and abyss, and basically, the most terrifying things Hebrews could think of, I decided it might be worth looking into God's relationship with chaos.

Ever thought about how Genesis 1 never says that God created water? It was just always there! Yet God's spirit was hovering over the abyssal waters, keeping watch and control over them. God never kills off the "chaos" or the "sea god", like you'd see in other creation accounts. In Job, the wording seems to make God out to be a step-parent to the sea, who keeps the sea on a leash, ready to unleash when and how he wants! Anyway, I hope the teacher likes it.
Jay, great to see you are up and running with this service. It was great "looking" through your library - I may even make a few lending requests now that I know some more of what you have! Thanks again for the books relating to the Old Testament, the prof gave some great lectures and I learned a LOT. Still not totally sure what the paper's subject will be on, but I'll keep in touch. Blessings.
