About meSusan Hasler grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Russian language and literature from the University of Virginia and a Masters Degree in Slavic languages and literatures from the University of California, Berkeley. She went to work for the Central Intelligence Agency in 1983 and was there for the next twenty-one years.

Susan’s jobs at the CIA included: foreign documents officer; analyst; speechwriter to James Woolsey, John Deutsch, and briefly George Tenet; editor of a monthly publication; and, finally, counterterrorism analyst. She worked in the Counterterrorist Center from 2000 to 2004, when she resigned from the Agency.

Susan is the author of Intelligence, released in 2010 by Thomas Dunne Books.
