About meLocated in Lowell, MA, Temple Emanuel of the Merrimack Valley is a welcoming, independently thinking, and very unique reform Jewish congregation. Our doors are always open. We do not, nor have we ever, charged for High Holiday seats (we rely on voluntary donations by those who attend). Our eternal light is solar powered, our members are warm and friendly, and our Rabbi is very approachable. We have an excellent religious school and offer a variety of adult educational opportunities.

We attract down-to-earth members seeking a Jewish “home” for ritual, cultural, or even social reasons. Many of our families are intermarriages, seeking a temple where they will be welcome and a place to educate their children.

Membership is open to all who are committed to or are exploring Judaism: singles, couples, parents and their children, people of all sexual orientations, couples where both are Jewish and couples where one — or both — is not, people with extensive Jewish knowledge and beginners. We welcome everyone to worship with us.

The mission of the Temple, as stated in its bylaws, is “to provide a welcoming atmosphere which encourages Jewish spirituality, learning, and community, and to share these values with others.” Inclusion is a core belief of the members of Temple Emanuel.
