Thanks for the reply. I am sad that it isn't great, but because the topic is so limited, I will probably give it a try. I will take your advice and go the used route.

There are a couple of mystery series that use Aztec/Maya settings. Are you interested in mysteries ? They aren't heavy weight, but informative and enjoyable.

Unfortunately the one set in Maya time is incomplete, it didn't sell well enough: Marella Sands is the author and [Sky Knife] is the first book, and [Serpent and Storm] the second. They are both in PB and unfortunately OOP.

The series set during the Aztec time is just before the Spanish arrive. The author is Simon Levack, a Brit. He has 4 books out, but recently lost his publisher so he self-published the last book. If he doesn't get a new one he will not be able to keep the series up. The books are:
[Demon of the Air], [Shadow of the Lords], [Aztec: City of Spies],
[Tribute of Death].
Hello Stranger Here,

I was looking at a book, Tolteca, by K. Michael Wright, and I see you are the only one on LT who has it. I am trying to decide if I want to get it, since it is still in hardcover and doesn't look like it will ever go into paperback. Not a big fan of hardcovers, even at bargain prices.

I am wondering if you could give me some advice, if you don't mind. Have you read it? If so, was it worth your time and money ? I am interested in Aztec/Maya and SFF/Horror so the theme seems OK, but does the writing and the story pan out ?

Thanks

Hi TL,

It's good to see you are still writing.

Jeffrey L. Jackson
Yeah, it looks as though I may fork the 25 bucks too (but I'm waiting to have money in the bank before doing that ;) )
Yeah, I learned about it from John Joseph Adams' blog and immediately was hooked (I even forked over the 25 bucks for the lifetime membership:)
Hey, I just joined and came across your list while browsing. Cool site, isn't?

I see you're an Asimov fan too ;)
