About my libraryThe books I'm actively collecting and (mostly) reading at the moment are generally mountaineering- or travel-related. (For anyone interested in literature on mountaineering or exploration, Bill Buxton has an extensive annotated bibliography on his website.)

To give my reading some structure in 2009 I've set myself the challenge of reading 100 books selected either from my current interests, books that have languished unread on my shelves for an embarrassing length of time, or books that have been on my watchlist for awhile.

A note on how I'm using the Collections feature: Your library = books I own; Wishlist = books I'd like to buy this year; To read = books I plan to read this year; Mountaineering and Travel are major areas of interest and include books that I actually have, books I've read but don't own as well as books I'd like to have; Read but unowned = books that I've read but are not in my possession either because I borrowed them or have passed them on; Watchlist is basically to keep track of books that have come to my attention over the years but that I may or may not ever set hands on.
