About meI live in sunny Michigan (USA), write historical fiction, and read just about everything. I love nothing more than to explore the human experience. I have done so with The Sword of Hannibal and The Wrath of Alexander the Great.
About my libraryLOTS of history, mostly ancient western. Quite a bit of science, philosophy, geography, and military strategy. (Lots of economics, as well, boring as it is to most.) Also the REALLY classic stuff like Plutarch and Arrian.
Of course I am a huge Shakespeare fan, but my fiction writing influences are modern.

MY REVIEW:
AMAZING! I was unsure while reading this whether to swallow it in one bite (night) or to savor it over several.
In choosing the latter, I was treated to Commander Barkane and his troop of odds n' ends outwitting superior forces at every turn. Now understand, while I read this novel, never once did I ever feel that the action was anything but believable. It read as a true historical account of a campaign during Alexander's time. There were virtually no slow points, nothing to slog thru while waiting for the "good stuff".
From the start you are swept along on an adventure with characters that are not only believable, but engaging. I CARED what happened to them. And I wasn't disappointed.
Ingenious uses of the elements of his world to achieve his goal were exciting and challenging ( How will I get out of this one?). Barkane never failed me.
I received this book thru Member Giveaways and am glad I did. Terry, thanks for the taste. I'll be seeking out your books in the future myself to purchase!
READ THIS BOOK! You won't be disappointed!! ( )
