About meThomas Moore (28 May 1779 – 25 February 1852) was an Irish poet, singer, and songwriter. During his lifetime he composed mainly for the stage but he achieved everlasting fame with his Irish Melodies, including the lyrics to The Minstrel Boy, The Last Rose of Summer, and The Harp That Once Thro' Tara's Halls.
