Thanks. I forwarded your reply to my daughter. I think the problem is that she graduated from Rutgers U. in May 2010. I think you can not keep that email for say longer than 6 months after graduating.

In months past when I have reviewed a book for the early reviewers it was posted that I had reviewed it almost immediately.. this last one, The Ranger, not so. I reviewed it on the 16th and it's still listed as unreviewed. Is there a step that has changed that I'm unaware of or have I fallen into a dead spot?

I was full of hope when I plugged my Cue Cat scanner into the USB port & it lit up red: all went as specified in the leaflet = gibberish showed in the 1st Search box, but no ISBN materialised nor any title except a message saying something like "failure to recognise". Have I missed some stage? or is there another explanation?

Recently, my cataloging entries changed without any move by me from Author A-Z to Title A-Z, & also told me that "author less" entries like the 29 vols of the Ency. Brit. were not entered : is there any reason you can suggest for the spontaneous shift to Title A-Z? I have now restored the Author A-Z sequence, but I confess I initially panicked.

For some reason, my most-frequented group, Folio Society Devotees, is currently shown as being ignored by me--but I never clicked on "Ignore this Group." What's worse, when I click on "Stop ignoring" it does nothing. It's no longer showing up in my list of groups. Is this the work of a hacker with a grudge against me, or is there some other reason?

Somewhat belatedly, I should point out that my David Williams is not the same David Williams. As Nevertype says - it's a fairly common name (and a typically Welsh one). This is a glitch in the LibraryThing Author idea, since there is no such thing as a unique author record.

Thanks for the note about author David Williams. But, there are apparently 41 different authors with the name David Williams in LibraryThing (LT). Mine is David Williams (18), author of the two Nachtjager (night fighter) volumes in the Luftwaffe Colour series.

Hi Dan, bug report / feature request for you.

I just got from you a (presumably automated) announcement of an author chat by someone who shares a name (but very likely not a librarything account, oops) with an author in my library. Perhaps the announcement feature needs a bit more filtering for such cases? (Do LT authors list their own books somewhere? Might be more reliable than going by name -- and something to encourage anyway, I would have thought!)

Per http://www.librarything.com/contact I am leaving this note with respect to http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.php/Adding_and_importing_books ... It looks like the links with respect to zebra aren't going to what you might expect. Perhaps zebra is no longer on sourceforge. Perhaps someone could update that page with appropriate information at some point. Not being familiar with this 'barcode' 'technology', I myself have no idea where the links should go. FYI.

hi dan,
just bought a lifetime membership to my son.
Used PayPal as instructed, got the receipt of the payment from them
as well as tks from LT, but the emails i have not (nor my son) received.
obviously, membership is not visible.
my question: how long does it take from the payment that the membership
is validated ??
receiver is already a free member.

Hi, Dan. I have 2 questions... Y isn't kindle on the Ebook connection list? Also, why is it that when I put in the kindle ISBN it doesn't go through? With LT connected to Amazon and kindle being from Amazon, I would think there would be a connection between LT and kindle.

I have two questions. Hope you can help me!

1) Lots of people want to be my friend, and I always accept. What, if anything, can I do with my friends? For example, is there an easy way to know what they are adding to their libraries or reviewing? Are our libraries linked in some way? Just curious.

2) How can I make more than one recommendation for a book? The rules say you can make up to three recommendations per book, but once I make one, the "add a recommendation" feature disappears from my screen.
