About meGraduate student in critical musicology.

About my libraryThis list will grow as I have time.

I'm currently researching the following topics: the social construction of the iPod; mechanical musical instruments in the 17th and 18th centuries; ideas of the natural/unnatural/fantastical in Western thought. I'd very much appreciate any references on any of these, or related, topics.

Hullo Tildy! This is just a guess based on your library, but you might enjoy this book:

ENGINEERS OF HAPPY LAND: Technology and Nationalism in a Colony. By Rudolph Mrazek. Princeton (New Jersey): Princeton University Press. 2002.

It's got a brilliant essay about radio in Dutch Indonesia (and yes, I know Mrazek, but not well enough to promote his book without reason).
Watching you too Sister ;)

Going to add a load of my comics/graphic novels now - I think I will go for the lifetime subscription if all goes well...
Tosh as in totally implausible waste of my time...
Hey, what's this one like?: "The New Thought Police : Inside the Left's Assault on Free Speech and Free Minds by Tammy Bruce (2003)"

It's not too bad. Some obvious slanting here and there but overall she seems to try and be fair. She defintiely has a chip on her shoulder though. It is an interesting read.
Reviews? Yes, as soon as I get that clone finished, and teach her how to read and write, I'll get her right on it... hehe
