My main fields of scholarly specialization are African and comparative colonial history, but I also teach general cultural history and cultural studies on a variety of topics. I've also written about children's television and more recently, computer games and virtual worlds. About my libraryMy books listed here are from both my office and my home libraries. My scholarly collection has a large number of works on African, colonial, imperial and world history; also anthropology, cultural studies, game studies, historiography, political theory and other work. My home collection includes many works of science fiction, children's literature, novels, and miscellaneous non-fiction. I've recently begun adding my cookbooks, our general fiction collection, and my wife's collections of books on dance, urban planning, feminist theory and other areas of interest. I'll also be adding my graphic novels and trade-publication comics more actively soon. If it's listed here we own it. It's possible that a book listed here might have left our collection via one of our periodic culls, but we very rarely dispose of books. I list some kinds of books relatively sparingly if at all, such as Moon or Lonely Planet travel guides. GroupsAll Books Africa, Bloggers, Historical Fiction, History Readers: Clio's (Pleasure?) I just read about you updating things here on your blog. I can never remember my log-in there, so can't ever comment. We have a small and somewhat odd set of books in common. I'm surprised there's not much history- only two or three (history proper- leaving out things like Foucault) that I saw, but a fair amount of philosophy and novels.
