At The New School the nucleus of this engagement is the Tishman Environment and Design Center. It is a place for students and faculty from all colleges and schools to gather, interact, and explore shared experiences. It facilitates research, curriculum development, internships, and fieldwork opportunities. It stimulates critical thinking and builds relationships through lectures, public programs, workshops, and conferences. About my libraryThe Tishman Environment and Design Center Library consists of the personal collections of current Environmental Studies faculty members, who have generously offered their books for university use, as well as a student collection composed of uncopyrighted environmental activist materials and publications donated by New School students and staff. The library was founded with the hope of strengthening the environmentally and ecologically minded academic community and fostering discourse between students, faculty, and administrators of the Environmental Studies degree program at the New School.
