About meI specialize in the literature and thought of the Hebrew Bible, working in particular on early Biblical interpretation (within the Bible itself, in Second Temple literature, and in the versions), composition history, and the books of Ezekiel and Leviticus (interpretation and reception-history). When not working I . . . hmmm . . . I guess that's not very often.
About my libraryThis is just my professional library. I have not even tried to catalog all the literature. I decided long ago not to own nice hardcovers or first editions. That way I do not have to resent my friends when they fail to return books. My top five literature authors are: John Steinbeck, Saul Bellow, Shusaku Endo, David Foster Wallace, and Bernard Malamud.
