About meI'm working on a thesis on cultural history, about Byzantine-Sasanid relationships during the times of Justinian, based mainly on Persian Wars of Procopius, comparing with Syriac Chronicles.

I'd really be glad to talk about any of the books I'd put on my library list here. In my real life, there are so few intellectual persons around me, mostly in university. Even there, there are so few people really interested on discussing about things I really interested. So, feel free to write a mail if we have anything in common.

About my libraryIn my library, there are more than 8000 books, but most of them are in my main tongue, Turkish.

Nearly 3000 of them are in English. Including mostly in history (especially ancient& medieval), anthropology (especially British ritualist school), archeology, sociology, philosophy, psychoanalysis (complete works of Freud, and works of first generation of Freudians such as Stekel, Rank, Reik...etc),literature, art history (Classical, Byzantine, Renaissance eras).

Thank you for your post. Unfortunatly, my english is rusty, I am able to read a simple text but I am not able to discuss for complex things. I had a look at your library and I was very impressing by the number and the quality of your books. Because you are young (I am sixty)and so cultured.

Thanks for your remarks about my collection. Like yourself, I find it hard sometimes to share my interests with others - a lot of people, even close friends, tend to think all this intellectual stuff is a bit redundant unless there is an immediate payoff for work or every day life. It’s good to know that there are others with similar interests out there. By the way, the research you are doing sounds really interesting.
