This may sound snooty ... Or cheap ;)

Unless I am shopping for a book by a favorite author or killing time, I just hit GoodWills on a weekend morning with my son. Gets me a weird but wide selection of books at incredible prices while letting my husband sleep-in.

Also it allows me to buy inexpensive crafting supplies (often unused or upcycled from something odd) frames, shelves, toys, & other "junk" while spending time with Ian and ensuring that my family's materialism is supporting the reuse of existing goods rather than unnecessarily increasing demands for production.

Oh yeah, and it is fun!
Most of my books are now listed. But I have more than a couple left to go.
A few things about my favorite author who visited my favorite convention, Dragon*Con: Lois McMaster Bujold.

Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan Saga Sourcebook and Roleplaying Game by Genevieve Cogman, GURPS* 4th edition is now available in actual book form from Steve Jackson games/dealers. Before it was only availlable as pdf downloads.

Lois McMaster Bujold has a new interview by Debbie Yutko online at the Dragon*Con Daily http://dailydragon.dragoncon.org/2009/lo...

Lois spoke about this product at a D*C track, and was very excited about the artwork being reasonably good depictions of various characters (Cordelia was the only one about whom she seemed uncertain).

Lois McMaster Bujold read her chapter 1 and part of chapter 2 from her upcoming book Cryoburn (due Nov 2010). She had no problems with recording the session. So I made an audio recording but I haven't had a chance to examine it for quality.

I also managed to attend and record the session in which John D Ringo interviewed Lois McMaster Bujold. Again, I haven't had the opportunity to check the recording's qaulity.

Anywho, I'm going back to doing my happy dance.

My library is a bit one dimensional at the moment ... I'll add more books and tags as my son (the toddling tyrant) allows me the time.
