About meTwenty-something. British. Lesbian. Unitarian. Invisibly disabled. Elder sister. Writer, reader, web designer. Cat lover (and any other animals with fur, but especially cats). FSF and crime/mystery nut.

All my writing (poetry, fanfiction, original fiction) is archived at my second domain, http://www.joyunending.net (yes, that IS a Diane Duane quote!), if anyone's interested. :)

Anything else? Ask!

About my libraryMostly: true crime, crime drama, mysteries, fantasy, science fiction (weighted toward character-driven), early twentieth-century school stories.

I don't read: romance, Western, political thrillers etc. and I avoid Stephenie Meyer like the plague. (Don't even TRY to convert me on that.)

I'm currently cataloguing my library; deleted the lot when I received my first CueCat and am now in the process of scanning them shelf by shelf. The present number of books listed isn't close to my total, which is around two thousand as far as I can tell.

Back in July (with apologies for the delay in replying!) you said:
'Regarding the Diane Duane/Peter Morwood copyright you mentioned on capthelen's profile - why not ask the first-named author herself? She or her editor are sure to know; she's on Twitter @dduane :)'

It was Diane who asked me - she's a friend of mine, knows I have most of her books, and couldn't remember the details herself, as she said to me, she wrote it nearly 20 years ago - her copy is in storage and she is no longer on contact with the people for whom she wrote the book.
Hi Trialia,

The Deansgate Waterstones has been one of my favourite bookshops ever since it opened and I can remember when it was all uneven floors and unexpected nooks and crannies - nowhere near as tame as it is these day :-).

I follow Lois Bujold mainly coz of Miles and Chalion and am not subscribed to her mail list - there are only twenty four hours in a day and I spend far too many of them at work I fear.
OK, I actually had to concentrate there for a minute to remember how old I am... 22, I'm 22! I did that in a cinema once and panicked and told the ticket guy I was 10 when I was 15 - he only wanted to know for my ticket, not for ID or anything! I had to ask my friend my own age, how embarrassing. Anyway, nice to meet you - and perhaps meander your way down to Bakewell one day, it's very twee and lovely! :-D
Hi! Another British lass, I see. Hello, I'm Ellie (with the bookshop which, for reference purposes, is Book End, at Bakewell, Derbyshire). I'm a bipolar and a recovering agoraphobic, also an elder sister, reader and cat lover. I AM a Stephenie Meyer fan (I'm a sucker for brooding fictional heroes...) but I PROMISE never to try to convert you. How's that for an intro?!
xx
Thanks - that's so obvious that I now feel really silly!
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what does FSF stand for? Feminist Sci Fi?
