Noticed you liked The Bluest Eye, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, DNF in my library stands for Did Not Finish. For a time I was putting in a stop date and then decided it wasn't necessary. I use DNF for any book I did't finish for any reason. Really it's way for me to track authors who don't appeal to my reading tastes.
Thanks for the note! We do have very similar libraries! I saw your post in the 50 Book Challenge group but haven't had a chance to reply yet. Your comment about looking for something more about simplying your life reminded me of Barabra Kingsolver's Animal Vegetable Miracle. It's not so much about giving things up, though, as it is about being more conscious of what you consume, particularly food. It's really well written and has a lot of good ideas so if you haven't already read it, you may find that more up your alley than Give it Up. In case you're still interesting in something along these lines, the magazine article where I got Give it Up! from also suggested Lightening Up: How I Stopped Smoking, Drinking and Everything Else I Loved Except Sex by Susan Shapiro.

P.S. You have a gorgeous profile picture!
Hi - Thanks for the note and for making me an interesting library! Yes, there's a real danger in growing your TBR mountain when you visit other libraries.

I love the picture on your page here -- what can you tell me about it? It's lovely.
