I have a friend who runs the Solo. We crewed her first year (2005), and I'll be crew chief for her and her husband this year. Somewhere out there on the 'net there's a photo of me sacked out on Ben's sidewalk at 6am, the four of us taking an hours' break before the push up to the Portal.

You'll be there for the July 1 start? I'm amused at the thought of you trying to stay commitment-free -- it seems there's always someone in urgent need of crew... ;-)
Wow, you are right, we are the only ones.

I have been psuedo-friends with the Jones' for a few years and after the WWW this year, Denise told me about her book. I bought it in the two weeks between the Lone Pine race and Bishop ultra. After that race, I stopped by their house in Lone Pine and had her sign my copy.

I have never run the BW but want to within the next couple of years. This year I will probably join Ben and bounce among the competitors taking pictures and "experiencing" the race without a lot of committment or responsibility.

How did you come across it?
I see you have the only other LT copy of Denise Jones' crewing guide for the Badwater. Do you run? Crew?
