About meI come from a long line of fortune-tellers, musicians, indifferent housekeepers and spinners of tales. I began writing romance novels in middle school, which were often confiscated by my English teacher. I'm the author of the best-selling Heir series of young adult fantasy novels (The Warrior Heir,2006, The Wizard Heir, 2007, and The Dragon Heir,2008). My new Seven Realms series launches with The Demon King in October, 2009.
I live in Ohio with my family, recently "retired" from the University of Akron, and am always working on my next novel. You can find more information on my Webpage.

About my libraryThis is in no way guaranteed to be complete; sometimes I forget to write things down for, like, a whole year.

Congratulations on creating a series that appeals to teenage boys! I work as a media specialist in a high school, and we cannot keep your books on the shelves. What is so great is that the series is checked out by reluctant and avid readers alike. Thanks!
Thank you so much for the Heir Series.

I love everything about it.

You've inspire my creative juices!
Hey - Found you!
Didn't know you were on LT!

Has anyone sent you an invite for the Green Dragon group, (named after Tolkein's pub?)

Your website - I paid the visit - very nice!

Close you Eyes
and you will see clearly,
Cease to Listen
and you will hear truth,
Be Silent
and your heart will sing,
Seek no Contacts
and you will find union,
Be Still
and you will move forward on the tide of spirit,
Be Gentle
and you will achieve no strength,
Be Patient
and you will achieve all things,
Be Humble
and you will remain entire.
Hi! You are such a great writer. I've only read The Warrior Heir, and can't wait to read the rest, because it was such a great book. :-) It's one of my favorites. I'll be sure to check out your newest series too. It looks interesting.
Thank you for accepting my friend request! I do look forward to reading your new trilogy, The Demon King. I was trying to find out when it was going to be published and couldn't find out anywhere, so double thanks for letting me know that it would be in the Fall of 2009!

Looking forward to reading more of your books in the future! :)
Thanks for accepting my invitation!
Well, perhaps The Demon King will be released the same time as in the USA, since I saw The Dragon Heir on the shelves around late August, the same time as the posted date on your website. I'm definitely gonna check out your new series! Thanks!
I read the summary of your new series on your website. I hope that the release of The Demon King will be the same as where I live (Philippines, other side of the world, so far....). I'm a very big fan!!
I LOVE the trilogy! Too bad it's over..... I was wondering if there would be a story about Linda and Hastings..... (hehehe!)Just kidding! (But then again....) Anyway, LOVE your books!
I finished The Dragon Heir last night. I only had to stay up until 4:15AM to do so.

I loved this quote, "Falling in love is like falling off a cliff. It felt pretty much like flying until you hit the ground."

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else, so all I'll say is that I hated Devereaux. He was such a spoiled punk.
Looking forward to meeting you at your upcoming book signing in Lexington!
Yep! That's me. So glad to see you on LibraryThing. Our library assistant turned me on to it, and now I can't stay away.
Ohioana is crazy about you!
I don't know if you remember me, but during your visit to the Alamo Heights Junior School, you signed my newly-bought copy of 'The Warrior Heir.' I read that book religously and loved it. It is now on one of my top book lists. I was the kid wearing a black shirt that said his favorite author was Rick Riordan.

P.S. I just became a member on this site after I discovered it from your website. It's really cool.
hi i really enjoyed both of your books so far and i cant wait to see the next one.
Both I and my eleven year old son loved Warrior Heir. Will be reading Wizard Heir soon, and looking forward to Dragon Heir.
I read the first 10 pages of your book on your site and it sounds GOOD. Next time I go to borders I'm going to look it up.
Wow! We really do have the strangest squirrel connection! Life is so funny sometimes!
Thanks for a wonderful dinner at TLA! I really loved chatting with you and Dragon Heir is definitely first on my to read list!

Here's our old squirrel web site in case you get bored :)

I just finished reading Wizard Heir, and thought I'd leave you a note to say how much I enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to Dragon Heir's upcoming release. Best of luck to you in your continued writing!
Just noticed that you are on LT and wanted to let you know (if you don't know already) that Warrior Heir is nominated for the 2009 Illinois Abraham Lincoln High School Book Award. This is an award voted on by students. If your book wins, I hope you will consider attending the Illinois School Library Media Association conference in fall of 2009! Thanks--your book is on my "to read" list!
WOW it sounds like it's really hard to write. Can't wait!
