Been collecting books for as long as I've been alive. Probably the collection got started before I was born. A few years ago I did a major purge and got rid of a couple boxes, so what's left is generally either a) what I like enough to keep, b) what looks interesting enough to read (eventually), or c) has enough sentimental value for whatever reason that I couldn't part with it.

There's a lot of young adult fiction, scientific non-fiction, historical fiction, and books about programming.

I love books. I love data. DATA ABOUT BOOKS, HOW ABOUT THAT?!?!

My collection is getting really big and if my house burns down I want to remember what I lost... at the very least. I almost built my own collection system until I did some research and found LibraryThing. It looks pretty nifty and as a web developer, I'm excited to play with its APIs.
