About meI'm a librarian with a book collection, many of which I haven't read. Over the last 12 months I have been disciplined in adding only 2 books to my library. I decided to patronise my local library instead.
I was born in Sri Lanka and migrated to Australia with my family when I was 11 years old. I married in 2005 and have moved to Croydon. I have retired from my job in a government library and have enjoyed more time for reading. I have joined a book group and participate regularly in book chats and author talks at my local library. My interests include attending classical music concerts and the Australian ballet. I am a member of the National Gallery of Victoria, 3MBS and the State Library of Victoria. I regulalrly use email to keep in contact with friends. I do volunteer work for my local library by delivering books to 2 homebound clients and I am cataloguing the book collection at the Victorian Jazz Archive. I also teach how to use the Internet at the Croydon U3A. Recently I discovered Facebook and have been uploading photos of my recent overseas trip.

About my libraryMy collection is a mixture of novels and non-fiction. Novels range from the classics of Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte to modern authors such as Rosamunde Pilcher and Anita Brookner. Australian authors I like include Peter Carey, Colleen McCullough and Geraldine Brooks. I particularly like novels about the Indian sub-continent and one of my favourite authors is Vikram Seth.
