About meAbe F. March is a Pennsylvania native and a published author. His first book: "To Beirut and Back," is about his entrepreneurial pursuits that took him from Pennsylvania to Canada, Greece, Germany and then to Beirut, Lebanon.
Frustrated with a salaried employee’s life and an insular upbringing, Abe struck out on his own to become a successful entrepreneur with a will to risk. He eventually sought his fortune in Middle East, where he encountered a very different mentality and business culture; and where events would change his political attitudes. Just as the money began rolling in, he and his family became caught up in the danger and tragedy of the Lebanese Civil War. Despite being robbed, shot at, and kidnapped, he remained in Lebanon even after westerners had fled as a matter of self-preservation. Although financial ruin finally impelled him to leave, he returned a year later and was hailed as “The First American Back.” In his travels throughout the Middle East he met with representatives of princes, kings, and the Shah of Iran. He is also faced with the temptation of undertaking illegal activities for high stakes.
His second book: "They Plotted Revenge Against America" was published on January 22nd and is available on Amazon.com
His third book: "Journey into the Past" was published June 2009 and is available on Amazon.com and by the publisher, All Things That Matter Press.
Abe March has been a self-made business man for the better part of his career. Whether promoting consumer products or doing consultant work across the globe, he took the risks necessary to succeed and weathered many ups and downs in his career. He is currently retired and resides in Germany.
