About meOriginally from Brighton England I live with my American partner Jon, two cats and two chickens in Woy Woy, NSW. I have a degree in English Language & Media Studies from Sussex University, UK.

About my libraryI had to sell all my books when I emigrated to Australia (with two bags)nine years ago - something I've never really gotten over! I badly miss some of the books I used to have - books seem really expensive here and there is a dearth of second hand bookshops.

That being the case, my selection is something of a bookshelf of the mind. It includes books I have and books that made such an impression on me that I can still remember the plot, years later. I haven't included books I liked but can't remember the details of.

Noticed you liked Clockwork Orange, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a group of violent kids (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

Thanks. I discovered the site by following the link from your stumble page. I wish there was a wishlist - I've seen so many good book recommendations here!
I love your "oh how I wish I still had this tag" - may have to adopt it! I haven't catalogued books I no longer have, but want to - this would get me round it (and also graphically expressing the whistfulness at letting a book go!
