About meReturned to school at age 44 to pursue a bachelor's degree in Historical Studies. Recently completed a class called Exploring Place: History for which I wrote several research papers on Atlanta's Oakland Cemetery from the perspective of place-based theory.

I took a quick look at your blog. It is very pleasing to the eye and puts forth some interesting ideas. I can remember seeing a long interview with McLuhan and I was interested in how his ideas focused on the medium as a defining part of the cultural paradigm and how the visual electronic medium changed the paradigm. As a child of the television age who has been reading a lot of 19th century history I can see the importance of that insight as a tool in understanding history.
I am fairly new to LT and really enjoy all the activities and people that are part of it. Hope to hear from you. Do good and stay well.

I'm loving your blog, too. You write very well, and very deliberately. I've tended to use my blogs more as journals, and as a result they're very haphazard. It's one of my goals this year to begin blogging with more forethought...
