About me A lifelong reader and (presently on home duty) librarian , I'll read anything, including cereal boxes and air freshener cans. Favorite authors include David Sedaris, Alice Hoffman, Martha Grimes, Ruth Rendell, Elizabeth George, Augusten Burroughs, John Berendt, Calvin Trillin, Tony Hillerman, Ian Rankin, J.K. Rowling, Dick Francis, Jonathan Tropper, Tom Perotta, plus anyone featured in the New Yorker (like Paul Rudnick, whom I discovered in 1989 when I read a review of his fabulous novel “I'll Take It"). I'm dying to know who Lucy Jackson, the pseudononymous author of "Posh," really is. I also miss the great Margo Kaufman, who died of breast cancer in 2000 -- she was both hilarious and touching. Her adoption odyssey, “Clara: The Early Years," added a new dimension to her humor.

My better half used to be a prolific reader, but has switched to books on CD since the onset of eye problems in November. We just finished Laurie Notaro's novel "There's a (Slight) Chance I'm Going to Hell."

Still waiting to win the lottery. I have an old house to finish renovating and a lotta property to landscape.

About my library I have a weakness for British mysteries and Southern writers. Also any half-literate book about dogs. Currently reading a lot of cook-, gardening and decorating books.

The books listed here are my to-read list, although I'm adding some reviews (mostly in hopes of getting some Early Review titles). I have books I've already perused listed on Shelfari and Goodreads.

Hi, just wanted to say hello and thank you for sorting out my summer reading. I was looking for a few inspirations and after a browse through your list I've just ordered 10. :-)
