About meI like to read. I buy more than I read, but I keep trying to read more. :-). TV is not much of a time competitor, but this computer sure is, as are various projects around the house. I do most of my reading from midnight to three a.m. Occasionally I get to read earlier.

This list is for my reference and much easier to locate than in the 50 book challenge.

Read so far in 2010

About my libraryI don't have the largest library on LibraryThing, but it's large for the size of my house. Books are in every room except the bathrooms. (That's where the magazines are!)

There's a little bit of almost everything (and a lot of some, like fiction). Most of the books reflect my interests, even many of those I have yet to read.

A few books belong to other family members and were listed because they're here. I've put them into separate collections.

Another collection I'm going to make is books I want to get rid of. Most of them aren't worth anything to anyone (outdated computer books), but not all. I figure I'll list them and anyone who wants them can have them.

hey airycat -- thank you so much for that wonderful review! wow, you rock! and you GOT every bit of it! that business about Mary being BIG -- i think it was because she was bulked out in a sheepskin coat when she made her first impression on me, but by the end (when she was doing that P Opera thing) she was looking glamorous to me, and lovely, as she appears in the video. But then, Larry was handsome to me by then as well. Funny thing about appearances. So I couldn't see, was that five stars you gave me? again, thank you SO VERY MUCH!

Hi Airycat,

How are you? Hope doing well..
Enjoy your weekend..
Yes, I am author.
Hai Airycat, You Bio is impressive.
Hi, I just joined this site. Are you a writer too?
And I apologize. I got a new comment notification and thought yours was the new one without remembering I had already answered it. D'oh!

Some days I shouldn't be allowed on the computer...
Hi, Faith!

The goblin series goes:

Goblin Quest
Goblin Hero
Goblin War

As to your other question, The Stepsister Scheme is book one in the series. Book two is The Mermaid's Madness, and comes out in October. Red Hood's Revenge should be out some time in 2010. I'm hoping to do a few more in the series, but right now only the first three are under contract.

Best,
Jim
The error should be fixed now - go request the book! Sorry about that.

I lived on Lozier Street until 1962 and attended St. Augustine's through sixth grade.. In fact Msgr. Duffy married my husband and me long after he retired to MOS in Greece. My brothers still live around Rochester.

I don't really remember the plots to the ST books, but when I see the covers, I remember the covers and that I had read them.

My favorite McKuen is "Come to Me in Silence.

I guess with as many people who are in LT, one might find someone from "home".

Nice to have a new friend.
The bar is a ticker. Go to www.tickerfactory.com and you can create one of your own. I am in a Challenge group (50 right now, but soon 100) and this lets me keep track of where I am in that challenge.

I am actually getting all the titles for the Star Trek books from another LTer cskerr13. AS you noted I don't have the books, but she does and is now listing them. So between her and Recommendations I am getting them all (or most of them!).

Where in Rochester were you from? I was born at St. Mary's, lived not far from there neatr St. Augustine's and then lived out in Greece.

I got into Rod McKuen in college in the late 60s and I do still have all his books.

Thanks for writing.
Because you own this vintage cookbook set, I invite you and the 38 other owners of this cookbook to a group talk in COOKBOOKERS, on META GIVEN'S MODERN ENCYCLOPEDIA OF COOKING. I'm curious about how you came to own this cookbook and what is your favorite part about the set. Thank you! See http://www.librarything.com/talktopic.ph...
Airycat! Thanks for visiting my library! So cool to find kindred reading spirits. Most of my books are TBRs, I shamefully admit. I keep track of what I've read on the 75 Book Challenge group. That way I can track the library books I read as well as the ones I own. I see we've already read a few of the same books this year. I very recently finished "Dreamers of the Day" and loved it.

I see you're in Salem. Many, many years ago, I had distant relatives that lived there and we'd visit from time to time. Oregon is a wonderful place. - Linda
That was a great question because The Art of War editions nowadays focus on business. "The Art of War -- Spirituality for Conflict" goes back to discussing the text itself and how it relates to the world's greatest spiritual beliefs such as Christianity, Judaism, Taoism, and Buddhism -- or just plain spiritual living. Universal truths often link to one another. Hope I answered your question. Sincerely, Thomas.
Hi Faith, thanks for connecting with me. I see you live in Salem, Oregon which is interesting because I used to live in Newport, Oregon. Great kite flying place! If you want to learn more about my new book "The Art of War -- Spirituality for Conflict" just let me know. Thanks again!

Sincerely,
Thomas
Hi Airycat,

We're cats, too. Our human is named David Athey, the author of Danny Gospel. We wanted to say hi, and to thank you for reading his book.

Best wishes and no hisses,
