About meAn underling in the military-industrial complex, I have spent one-third of my life outside the US (I've lived in Japan, England, Germany, and Turkey). I've also lived in California, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, New Mexico, Illinois, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Florida. I am now living in my 52d home.
I plan to retire as soon as I win the lottery. At that time, my faithful dog Arlo and I will tour the US in a pickup truck, towing an Airstream behind us.
Alternatively (and far more likely), Arlo and I will end up somewhere in Texas, where I will spend the rest of my life trying to read all the books I own and knit up all the yarn in my stash.
About my libraryMy library is now smaller than it's been since the 1970s. I've moved too many times, and lived in too many small homes, to keep up the sort of library I'd have if I had my druthers. I have (responsibly) disposed of many, many books over the years - about 1000 in 2005 alone. My family no longer believes me when I tell them I'm downsizing.
