About meI'm a new librarian and a geek.
I love books, gadgets, social web stuff, fantasy genre, travel, adventure, college football (especially the Alabama Crimson Tide), Indian food, Macs, my cats, curiosities, and absurdities. I’m passionate about education, innovation, and social justice.
About my libraryI use librarything to catalog & organize the books I own and goodreads to keep up with the books I read (as a library borrower and random purchaser of books, the two don't always coincide as much as I might like). My collection includes much fantasy, young adult lit, history, and information science.
A note about my tag conventions:
When referring to the national origins of a fiction author, I use the appropriate demonym, such as American, Portuguese, or British. When referring to the subject or setting of a book, I use the noun form of the geographical place such as United States, Portugal, or Britain.

Oh Infinite Star Giver
I now ask for wisdom and courage
to follow these stars
for their names are many
and my heart is fearful...
They shine on me wherever I go:
The Star of Hope
The Star of Mercy and Compassion
The Star of Justice and Peace
The Star of Tenderness and Love
The Star of Suffering
The Star of Joy
And every time I feel the shine
I am called
to follow it
to sing it
to live it.

I noticed that we have a lot of the same favorite authors. If you don't mind sharing--I was wondering, what's your favorite novel of all time?
Here’s wishing you a weekend filled with wacky whims, wonderful weirdness, and well-disposed werecats.
