About metechnology librarian, humanist, feminist, night-owl, vegetarian, girl detective

About my libraryI've been big into fantasy and young adult lit for a while. I'm starting to branch out more, but those are still where my library is strongest. I have degrees in history and librarianship, so my nonfiction collection is strong there. I'm currently interested in social justice and feminism.

Liked your review of Ash. In particular, it was an a-ha moment when you said: "But I always feel distant from fairy tale characters. It is always hard to imagine them fully, like they are characters in a dream. Their motivations are often unclear." That was exactly how I felt when reading Ash but I couldn't quite put it in words!
Oh Infinite Star Giver

Oh Infinite Star Giver
I now ask for wisdom and courage
to follow these stars
for their names are many
and my heart is fearful...

They shine on me wherever I go:
The Star of Hope
The Star of Mercy and Compassion
The Star of Justice and Peace
The Star of Tenderness and Love
The Star of Suffering
The Star of Joy
And every time I feel the shine

I am called
to follow it
to sing it
to live it.

Hi Andrea!

I noticed that we have a lot of the same favorite authors. If you don't mind sharing--I was wondering, what's your favorite novel of all time?

Here’s wishing you a weekend filled with wacky whims, wonderful weirdness, and well-disposed werecats.

-Jeremy :)
Thanks! We do have many of the same favorite authors. Enjoy your semester, too.
Glad to hear your summer's been good. Things are fine on this end, though the vacation passed much too quickly. :-)
Hey, you introduced me to this place and I love it! Have you had a good summer?
You changed your picture to one that indicates you sometimes hold piles of books! AND THEN ARRANGE THEM!
I've started a group thats dedicated just to discussing HP and the Deathly Hallows. its called HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS ONLY. We could all post about the last book there so that is will be contained and we won;t have to worry as much aobut spoilers. Join when you finish the book.
