About meEver since I met my elementary school librarian, Mrs. Vettiger, I have been wanting to catalogue my books. Now that I am on a forced medical sabbatical, I am finally able to begin organizing my own library.
About my library"In a library we are surrounded by many hundreds of dear friends, but they are imprisoned by an enchanter in these paper and leathern boxes; and though they know us, and have been waiting two, ten, or twenty centuries for us,—some of them,—and are eager to give us a sign and unbosom themselves, it is the law of their limbo that they must not speak until spoken to; and as the enchanter has dressed them, like battalions of infantry, in coat and jacket of one cut, by the thousand and ten thousand, your chance of hitting on the right one is to be computed by the arithmetical rule of Permutation and Combination,—not a choice out of three caskets, but out of half a million caskets, all alike."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

In the last decade, I have lugged my library back and forth between Colombia and the United States--first from Cali to Washington, DC, then from Washington, DC to Philadelphia, later from Philadelphia to Bogotá, and now finally from Bogotá back to Cali.
Along the way, my library has gone from being mostly fiction--what it largely remains to this day, with novels hailing mostly from the United States, Europe, and to a lesser degree, Latin America--to incorporating socio-cultural anthropology, critical theory, and most recently, art theory books. It has grown and shrunk to the current inventory posted here.
For the time being, my library will remain in Cali--providing the perfect opportunity to finally organize the whole thing.
