About meHistory student with interests in Renaissance historiography, intellectual history, Venetian Jews, Passover Haggadot, Jewish apologetics, female humanists, Italian, French, Latin, republicanism.
I stopped reading fiction completely a few years ago, but I keep my old novels around for old-times sake. I read 4-6 books a week, mostly related to my academic interests, but I rarely buy them because they are expensive.
About my libraryThis librarything is used to keep tracks of the books I read. Most of the books I own were bought several years ago, and I now check books out of the library. A growing number of my library listings, therefore, are books I do not own.
Those books I do own are divided between my dorm at college and my parents' house. I opened a librarything account so I could keep track of all my books while living in two different places.
I'm in the midst of putting all my books into librarything. At the same time, I'm organizing all my books according to the Library of Congress classification system. I use a P-touch labeler to print adhesive labels for my books.
I have acquired my library in three ways
1. The classic books I slowly "adopted" from the library of my English-major father.
2. The fantasy novels I purchased mostly from 2002-2005.
3. The books related to my academic interests which I am purchasing as my means allow. This is the section where my of my new additions will come from once I finish inputting what I currently own.
