So glad I could be helpful! And yes, by all means, use my comments in any way you like. Thankyou for asking. I hope you find out what happened to the other stories, do investigate! Ronda White

Actually, the subject matter was quite interesting, Michelle's story kept my interest all the way to the end. What bothered me a lot was the way the sequences were out of order, I generally like time to follow a straight line but that's just me. Also, I felt that the room mates and co-workers lives and motivations needed to be made a bit clearer, maybe their roles expanded. I felt frustrated that I didn't get in much on their inner lives. As for the short stories, they were too short for me to properly enjoy. I sort of felt like I got punched in the face. It sounds wildly inappropriate, but like they said in that old movie, I like to get kissed before I get fucked. Maybe that's just the nature of the short story, I must admit I mostly read novels when it comes to fiction. I think your ideas were great and it is plain to see you have talent for writing. I would love to see what you do next. Truly, had River Street flowed along a bit more smoothly and been more richly detailed (I would particularly have liked to read more hospital/parent matierial)I might have enjoyed it. Part of my trouble was that I didn't feel enough empathy for Michelle in spite of those scenes from her childhood which were really good. Maybe more of those would have made it easier for me to feel more connected to the story. Did I mention I loved the ending? Thanks for writing back, write anytime, I enjoy corresponding with LTmembers. I'm sure lots of people will enjoy your book, thankyou for sending it to me, I plan to donate it to my good friend who owns a used book store, I can trust him to pick someone appropriate to share it with. Hi Amy, I read about you on Google and you have my admiration for all your accomplishments. I, Too, am bi-polar. I bet we easily could have been friends had we known each other. I don't really enjoy sci fi but I do count Stranger in a Strange Land and The Illustrated Man among my most favorites of books. I know it is because of me, not your writing, but I have to and hate to tell you I did not like River Street. I'm sure lots of other people will though. It just wasn't my cup of tea. Do keep writing!!! Hope you are enjoying this holiday weekend, take care. Ronda White
