About meI am a graduate student at Virginia Tech and an employee at the MITRE Corporation. For more details, have a look at my home page.

Oh, a facebook page:
http://vt.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61...

And if you have a soft spot in your heart for dry academic publications, here is an ill-used and even more haphazardly-maintained page summarizing my contributions to this social decay: JA's papers.

About my libraryMy library began before I can remember... there are a number of volumes that I was given in my first year of life, which remain in my library. When departing the Northwest for Boston for college (1994), I went through my first Great Purge, selling or donating a large collection of sci-fi books.

Again, following college, I went through another purge, again getting rid of hundreds of science fiction and underused classics.

Recently, I have discovered BookCrossing, which is an excellent way of putting books into circulation while getting a little satisfaction...

FYI
I have uploaded a cover for Admirals and Empire: The United States Navy and the Caribbean, 1898–1945 by Donald A. Yerxa.
Welcome to the Political Conservatives group.

Are you a former Portland-er?
I bought Northcutt's book at Stacey's in Palo Alto back when the book first came out. At the time I was very interested in realtime, distributed OSes. How about you?
Thanks for the invite to the Mars Hill Audio Journal group. It was sort of funny since last night I was thinking I wanted to resub to the journal. I have been reading Vigen Guroian and his writings made me remember a couple great MHAJ sessions. Thanks for the impetus!
Nice to see that we have some wacky books in common, as well as the more serious and down to earth. It looks like you have some good Anglo-Catholic books lying around your library (I also have a copy of the Breviary; one of my little treasures).
I'm new at this site, but I already saw a thread in which you said something about Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee, and I wanted to say hello to you because I sort of feel that anybody who loves that book is worth knowing. I love it too.
I note that you have quite a number of Christian books. I wonder if you might be interested in my Bible Reading Notes, covering the whole of Scripture, posted in November 2006 at http://chascameron.spaces.live.com www.christinallthescriptures.blogspot.co... www.theologyofgcberkouwer.blogspot.com
Happy New Year.
Did you find the bookstore for used Christian books in PDX?

You could try Pilgrim's Books on about 90th (?) and Stark, but it might be more evangelical-leaning than you're after.
Thanks for inviting me to the worship discussion group. You may also be interested in a religious order of which I am a part, the Order of St. Luke, www.saint-luke.org. Also on yahoo groups as OSL.
Hi,
thanks for the welcome. I will be a little slow at first as become familiar with the site. I am sure I will get a lot out of this group.
Sue
I see we have similar interests in many areas. Browsing your catalog i noticed "Reaching Out Without Dumbing Down: A Theology of Worship for This Urgent Time" By: Marva J. Dawn and after checking it out the reviews on Amazon i saw that i really wanted to read what she has to say so i ordered it. Ordering online is so convenient (and can be dangerous to one's financial health if one's not careful!)
Wow. I didn't think I'd find someone else here with such a similar interest in computing, theology and science fiction. I've just started putting all my books up, but it looks like we have quite a bit more in common.
An enjoyable library - we have a few books in common
