GroupsCatholic literature, family & homeschool

About meWriting and literature have been a passion since primary school in my native Rio de Janeiro, where I grew up the seventh of a happy and noisy eleven-children family. I have done professional translation from Portuguese and reviewed children’s and parenting materials for ParentCouncilTM for almost a decade. I have also edited and published the Lincoln, NE area Catholic homeschool newsletter, taught NFP and done a few other things in between. A Catholic mother of seven, 6-19yrs old, I have homeschooled for over fifteen years. Due to a new position for my husband at the University, our family moved to rural South Dakota, and here we attempt to slow down the passing of these joyful years... My B.A. is in Art and my M.A. is in Aesthetic Studies: Art, Literature & Translation. I enjoy contributing to Heart & Mind among others. Future projects include expanding my master's thesis for publication and writing a couple of books: one about what I am asked most often: how to achieve confidence and good academics in the seemingly daunting mission of Catholic homeschooling, and the other on the beautiful faith story of the popular Marian shrine in Brazil.

About my libraryI add our books whenever I have time-- in no particular order.

Anhina, your library is excellent. I am a Catholic and a lover of the Catholic literary revival. O'Connor, Waugh, Chesterton: these are some of the greats! I wrote my senior thesis on Evelyn Waugh and T.S. Eliot!

God Bless!
