About me I am a recent graduate of Virginia Tech. Reading is my primary interest and collecting books is a sort of hobby. I am a true bibliophile. I also love gardening, hiking, animals, and science. Mostly just biology, psychology, and all that is needed to truly understand them. I like genetics quite a bit. Seeing it so poorly understood and constantly misrepresented in popular culture hurts. For those who care about those things, I am fond of developmental systems theory. In short, I am a geek.
About my library I love science fiction and fantasy due to powerful childhood influences and my father's amazing collection of science fiction bookclub titles. I have attempted to rebuild that library in some ways. I buy mostly used books or those that are deeply discounted. My classics collection was started on the 'buy it, and I will eventually read it' theory. It has been reasonably sucessesful. The children's books I collect for future offspring. Growing up in a house of books is true freedom.
I have started to list books in my library by the date they were first published rather than the date of my edition. I don't have any books that are valuable for reasons beyond their content and so I believe that knowing when a book was published is more important than when it was printed.
I plan to start reviewing books soon. I doubt anyone has or will read this, but I feel the need to share my analysis regardless.
