About meA new (1/19/08 and 4/24/08) grandfather, son's son & daughter's daughter!
A technology trainer for Fidessa, a UK-based stock trading software supplier. We handle 90% of the LSE, and a 35-40% share of the NYSE & NASDAQ trade volume.
My seven-second resume: rural MN, MIT, DOD, FACC (Ford), PC, ATT, Nokia, BA, UK.
Our (wife Pat) three grown children have all found the public sector: Chip -- WNET, NYC; Maura -- HS Band Director, NJ; Katie -- StoryCorps.Net, NPR outlet, all of whom we couldn't be more proud.
Maura assured me "we can offer you a challenge teaching here in NJ -- you don't need the NYC Teaching Fellows". She was right. I took this job in the summer of '06 out of a deal with my wife. She basically "financed" my job at BA, and was needing a break from her commute to the DC area! So, here we are.
About my libraryRecent interests in fiction: dystopia. J G Ballard after Oct 09 Harpers; Margaret Atwood's new book. after seeing a Larriue bros film at the TIFF.
Two things I've learned since Nov '06:
I arrived in Cambridge MA on the day eecummings died, and
My first half-birthday was on the day the US bombed Dresden "back to the stone age". And so it goes.

So far on the site it's been my experience that someone owns either the same serious books as I do or the same light reading ones. I was excited to come across someone who I overlapped with in both categories. Also, I'm from Minnesota.
I will make an attempt to check out that World War II book.
