About my libraryBooks listed are works that I own (and have read) or that I have read. Since I'm a big fan of Doctor Who and Torchwood, I enjoy books from those two series. Besides science fiction, I enjoy revisionist, dystopian, and historical fiction with a twist.

Thanks for the comment! I'm really excited to start my first librarian job at the end of the month. I love Jim Butcher! All his books are just so awesome :) Hope you enjoy them also.
Yeah, I liked Glass of Time but found it a little odd. Pros: strong, levelheaded female protagonist; convincing Victorian setting; continued the story from previous novel Meaning of Night. Cons: characters were a little flat, including villains; romance was unconvincing. It was long and rambled a little but then I also couldn't put it down. All in all, I'm glad I read it.
Heh, I've never read one of the Dr. Who books, just seen the television series. Might have to try one out.
You asked me what my favourite Doctor Who book other than my own was.
Possibly some time ago, I've not been updating librarything for a while.

Apologies if I seemed discourteous as a result. The answer, um, hard.
I like a lot of Lawrence Miles, Daniel O'Mahoney, Paul Cornell, Lance Parkin's stuff as well as others and to select one seems like a kick to many writers I regard as my peers or betters. Still, since you ask: Lawrence's 'Alien Bodies' and the bits I didn't write in 'The Book Of The War'.

One step beyond Doctor Who: Philip Purser-Hallard's 'Re: the City of the Saved'.

Cheers

We've got 3 cats - Nils is the one in the photo. Hannah and Theo tolerate Nils (the new one) to varying degrees. They also enjoy curling up on blankets as I read. I had a bad experience with a dog when I was little and have never quite warmed to them, although sometimes I think a dog would be fun. I'm sure the cats would disagree. Oh - I just saw you have Steinbeck listed as a favorite author. East of Eden is one of my favorite books and I keep meaning to reread Grapes of Wrath at some point. I think I would get more out of it as an adult than I did in high school.
Well, thanks for the comment. As for the "potential" part of my archives, I'm still in school and working towards it! So perhaps potential isn't the best description, but I like that word.
My choices for this afternoon - finish a poster proposal or play with Facebook and LibraryThing. The virtual world won out. Glad we are now friends in LibraryThing
That picture looks sooooo Minnesota.
Hi archivesman. The info on our Library Thing page (kaloplib) is just the newest books we have purchased. I try to update it once a month. We don't have our catalog online, and I love the widget option Library Thing gives for our website (see it in action at http://www.kalona.lib.ia.us/books-readin...) so I decided to go for it. Thanks for your interest...

My wife and I both brought a copy to the marriage, and neither of us will part with our favored edition/cover :)
