About mei have a background in Cultural Anthropology and Religious Studies.

no, i'm not 15. or 19. or even 21. and no, i'm not ecstatic about looking so young. no one likes to get carded for rated R movies when they are nearly 30.

i read everything that crosses my path. i read classics, and children's lit, and popular novels, and textbooks, and crap (which i usually don't know is crap until i start, and then i just can't stop in case there is one redeeming moment). most books that i really like, i read over and over and over. i hate it when people write in books... that's what book journals are for.

favorite genres:
dark humor
light fantasy
children's lit
social sciences
series

as of October 2, 2009, i raise chickens. yeah, it's been a weird year. can you imagine how hard it is to read a book when you have 22 chicks, 5 dogs, and 8 cats making a ruckus around the place?

About my librarymy library is on one hand a labor of love and on the other a complete catch-all. i have tried to hold on to every book that's come my way since i was a kid, but that hasn't happened. being a student and moving around a lot has meant that i had to cull out some of the extra weight, and some entire boxes were lost in the "great moving fiasco of 2003." since i like to move around alot (and it's not always possibe to take every book i own with me) LT has become an invaluable resource. i've saved so much money by not rebuying books i've forgotten i already own.

Hi,

Actually both the fire and the flood were in separate storage facilities while I was overseas with the Navy.

Not my fault at all!
Thank you for the kind words. And yes, it is hard to find sufficient time for reading when taking care of a menagerie. Twenty-two chickens. Do you sell your eggs? We barter with our neighbors: honey from our bees for eggs from their chickens. I notice you live in Maryville as do I (well technically Blount County). Cultural anthropology and religious studies? Where did you attend school?

Cheers,
Mary
