About meMy profile picture is by the artist Ray Ceasar. You can find more of his work online.
I'm a writer and performance artist who depends on research as a foundation to my writing and text-based art. BA in Art History at Oregon State University; MFA in Creative Writing from The School at the Art Institute at Chicago.
About my libraryI just started creating my catalogue so the list is by no means complete, nor is it an accurate description of my reading habits and preferences. That said: I don't collect books as objects but for content. Most of what I have are used copies but there are some nice hardcover ones I'm proud of, as well as a few children's books. I'm about collecting the information that the books contain because I have a terrible memory. I treat my books terribly. I bend them back to break the bindings when they won't lay flat; I not only dog-ear pages but fold whole pages into fan-shapes; I have even been known to tear pages out of books (though I quickly repent and replace them when I've calmed down). What I never do is loan my books out. Some own real estate; this is my real estate.
