I'm always checking my library here for duplicates. I've bought them too many times. And I just added a bunch of books that had been sitting on my floor for ages -- had to do that before putting them on my new shelves! I see you just added Glassblower of Murano. I read it earlier this year and it was very good.
I finished Bella Tuscany last evening. It's delightful though , yes, different than de Blasi. Mayes weaves a deeper though less emotional web than de Blasi. I enjoy them both. Like two layers in a piece of chocolate cake. Yummy.
Thanks for your response. You try this link http://fiscalpear.net/
Yes, you would think I had read her work first but alas, I have not! I have the movie though and adore Diane Lane in it. Frances has several that are on my list of Travel books to read. First I am going to get through the de Blasi line. Her Thousand Days in Tuscany is next on that list. I am such a dork-I have lists of my favorite genre titles of next to read. Perhaps I am an addict as well, eh?!!
Yes, I have read a few of de Blasi's works. A Thousand Days in Venice & The Lady in the Palazzo. Both are quite charming but then I am charmed by Italy. I also have A Thousand Days in Tuscany but haven't read it yet. Along the same lines is an Italian Affair by Laura Fraser. She's not the same type of storyteller as de Blasi but I enjoyed it none the less.
Happy new year from Canberra

Cheers

You have a great collection of books! I've added to my list of interesting libraries.
I am currently reading Sharon Penman's Sunne in Splendor.

And our common taste in books continues, as I have Mademoiselle Boleyn and The Lady of the Roses on order at the moment!

Are you on the Historical fiction forum as well? (www.historicalfiction.org)
Hi Betsy!

I just added you to my interesting libraries. You and I seem to have similar taste in historical fiction!
