About meBorn Joseph to Hellenic Jewish parents of the tribe of Levi and destined to be a Jewish priest. I was taken by Jesus and his followers and sold my possessions and used the proceeds to support the poor in Jerusalem. For this, I was renamed Barnabas - the encourager. I was convinced by Saul (later Paul)'s conversion and introduced him to the church in Jerusalem where they would dearly loved to strangle him for his persecution. I also mentored John (Mark) throughout his development and worked out the rough sports with Paul (which took years).

Paul and I aided the development of the church in Antioch which generated sufficient revenue to aid the poor in Jerusalem. We also undertook many missions. Although I was a Levite, I helped the new church establish its own identity and its rapport with the Gentiles.

Several works were attributed to me after my death, all speculative and redacted. I trust I will be remembered for my actions.
