About meMy mom was a librarian. I keep my books cataloged -- they each have both Dewey & LoC on their spines. Yup, I'm a book geek and proud of it ;~)

About my libraryI am just getting back to this site after a several year hiatus. My current collection is heavy on the medical books. I am a massage therapist, working on an advanced degree in Athletic Training, and another in lymphedema management. I also have a strong love for history (Howard Zinn & Mark Steel in particular) and social justice.

hey tiggergrrl, I am the same bart from breakdown. How are you doing? I like your reviews, they have inspired me to write more myself. (writing a book journal was one of my new years resolutions.) talk to ya later, bart.
Hey tiggergrrl - my RTS tag is short for 'Reclaim the Streets' - I've been using the tag for books that either cover RTS or were an inspiration for RTS in London.
tiggergrrl, thank you for your kind note about Twain's "The War Prayer". I'd forgotten about my review, so went back and took a look. The URL I'd provided had become a dead link in the meantime; thank goodness you drew it to my attention! I've added a new link to a page (http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/warPrayer.html) that includes something else I hadn't seen: an excerpt from Twain's The Mysterious Stranger, also scathingly critical of war and the "patriots" that defend it.
Thanks for the suggestion/explanation grunin. I've revised my catalog so that the tags feature is the standard useage. Basically, I began putting my reviews in the tag line because that was the only field that showed up in the non-manual book entry screen. But I see your point, and it makes sense from my own perspective too, since I often refer friends to my book collection for their own research.
Hello there -- feminist_prof here.

I haven't read "Fat is a Feminist Issue," so I can't directly relate it to that ... perhaps once I read it, it will be more clear to me.

I'd love to chat with you on the research you're doing, as I studied the suffrage movement for my masters thesis in Communication Studies and have been thinking of working my findings into talking about contemporary feminism. dancingwaves at livejournal dot come is my email address.
