Good grief, there's some grim stuff here. I notice your Beckett, and I've read all of it, down to the dialogues with George Duthuit, which B. scripted himself, nothing spontaneous about them. Years after reading B. I read John Fowles line on him - "arrant romantic pessimism". And he's right. The first biography confirms it. Beckett fed off Kafka, so did Pinter. Kafka's was the seminal imagination of the last century. How about taking a look at The Ghost of Neil Diamond and having a good time?
